Why Kristin Cares

Kristin with her husband Nathan

Kristin’s family has lived in Madison Township since the 1940’s. She attended North Madison Elementary and chose Madison Township as the place she and her husband, Nathan, want to raise their 3 children. She has been an active member of the community volunteering with groups like the Lion’s Club and the PTO. Serving her community has always been an important priority for her. While she has chosen to stay home with her children during the pandemic – she is a licensed Insurance Agent and previously worked in the service industry which taught her how to effectively communicate with the public.

In February of 2020, Kristin attended a public hearing in Madison Township regarding a potential fire territory creation. This hearing left her concerned with how her community was being served. The administration showed that it was unable to effectively communicate with each other, the fire department, or the public. Not long after – the Trustee’s Clerk and one board member resigned from their positions.

She began attending and recording the irregular Madison Township Meetings and discovered many more issues were plaguing her township government. Whether it was budget issues, maintenance reporting issues, accuracy/compliance issues, or just citizens voicing an opinion that tax dollars were being spent unwisely; she saw a clear breakdown of communication and cooperation. This called her to action. After consulting friends and family she decided she may best be able to serve her community in public office.

Kristin wants to see your taxes kept low and used responsibly. She would like to see more cooperation between her community and its government. Working together with appropriate two-way communication, the government can be held accountable to the people they serve. Principled elected officials should cooperate with citizens and work towards transparent and organized methods of governing. We can do better.

Madison Township needs someone representing them who is willing to fight for fiscal responsibility, transparency, meetings held at regular intervals, and regular public reporting.

If Kristin is elected, she vows to work cooperatively with our community, the fire department, and administration to create policies that are principled, compassionate, and cooperative with our community. Kristin believes these efforts will lead to positive change in Madison Township, and create an environment where taxpayers have confidence in their representation.

Kristin cares about her community and feels called to be the change she wants to see in Madison Township.
